Springtime 2017 in CT. Flowers. grass. puppies. ice cream. walks in the woods. and in CT – ticks. ticks. ticks.
I impress upon my beloved partner David to take our precious Caesar for a walk in White Memorial Woods. They had a marvelous time, until home coming. Within less than 30 minutes, 7 ticks had found their way onto Caesar. It’s hard to fathom that ticks so small can be so dangerous, rendering puppies and their owners with potentially crippling chronic ailments. With that context, Miss Do Good Things here has absolutely no issue with taking ticks off my beloved puppy and bringing them to a certain death.
After a 24 hour vigil, we brought Caesar to the Vet for another check. She suggested and we agreed to put him on a 3 day dose of doxycycline. Now – this was a Wednesday when I was scheduled to head out to Dublin on Thursday.
What to do? Cancel trip and watch my beloved family member Caesar? Bring him to the kennel and tell them to call me if there’s any reaction? … or let my responsible 23 year old millennial Jeremy come home from Boston to monitor Caesar. Notable – Jeremy volunteered.
Short answer — Do Good Things. Caesar is a family member so I couldn’t feel good about leaving the responsibility/worry to others. Mama here cancelled the 72 hour Dublin trip to huddle and cuddle with Caesar.
